  • Jonathan Harting joins Holloway Law after having spent over 13 years at the Delaware Department of Justice as a Deputy Attorney General within the Family Division. Prior to leaving the Department of Justice, Jonathan served as the Assistant Unit Head of the Child Protection Unit. Jonathan focuses his practice on family law having worked as a full-time litigator in matters of child custody, child dependency, child abuse and neglect. He has litigated hundreds of cases involving child custody, guardianship and termination of parental rights hearings. He also has experience handling substantiation hearings concerning issues of placement on the Child Protection Registry and has worked on juvenile misdemeanor and felony level criminal law issues.

    Jonathan has written numerous appellate briefs and successfully argued before the Delaware Supreme Court. He has presented on issues of dependency and neglect for the Delaware State Bar Association’s legal education class entitled the Fundamentals of Family Law. Prior to becoming a Deputy Attorney General, Jonathan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jerome O. Herlihy in the Delaware Superior Court.

    Jonathan serves as a volunteer for the Office of Child Advocate’s Child Attorney program for children who are in DFS custody. He obtained his juris doctorate degree from Widener University Delaware Law School and has a bachelor’s degree in history and religion. Jonathan has a passion for swimming and cooking and is currently training towards long distance running.
